100-Point Paddle Scoring Methodology
Every paddle on Pickleball3 is scored on the same 10 categories, each rated 0 to 10. The total is the sum, presented out of 100. Same questions, every paddle, same measurements — so the only thing that changes between reviews is the paddle itself.
The 10 categories
- Control
- Placement accuracy on dinks, drops, resets. How easy is it to put the ball where you want it?
- Power
- Ceiling for pace and put-away shots. The maximum pop a paddle can deliver.
- Spin
- RPM and ball rotation generation. How much spin can the paddle put on the ball?
- Sweet spot
- Forgiveness on off-center contact. How large and forgiving is the effective hitting zone?
- Stability
- Torsional rigidity. How well does the paddle resist twisting on mishits?
- Maneuverability
- Swing weight and quick handling at the net. How fast can you react?
- Comfort
- Vibration, arm-friendly for tennis-elbow concerns.
- Forgiveness
- Overall margin for inconsistent contact across the face.
- Reach
- Effective reach on extended shots. How far does the paddle extend your arm?
- Value
- Performance per dollar. How does the score compare to retail price?
Score interpretation

| 85+ | Exceptional. Minimal compromises. Tournament-grade. |
| 80–84 | High-level. Clear strengths, manageable trade-offs. |
| 75–79 | Solid. Noticeable limitations in 1-2 categories. |
| 70–74 | Narrow-use. Entry-level or specific style only. |
| 65–69 | Entry-level or recreational. Strong compromises. |
| <65 | Niche use only. Not recommended for most players. |
How we measure
Each sample is measured in-house. We verify static weight on a digital scale (typical 7.5–8.5 oz for control paddles, 8.0–8.7 oz for power). Swing weight is measured with a swing-weight scale. Grip circumference is verified with a digital caliper. Face material and core construction are documented from the sample itself, not from spec sheets.
What we don't do
We do not accept paid placements. We do not adjust scores based on brand relationships. Affiliate links, when added, will be clearly disclosed and never influence the score.
